Hello, my friends!
I do hope that this post finds you healthy and happy. My life has been going spectacularly well lately and I have so much that I want to share with you all, in due time. Daddy and I are doing great and life is good in our neck of the woods. We had a very emotional, healing conversation last night and I find myself feeling quite drained today from the intensity of it all. It was one of those really deep, honest conversations that makes you feel like your soul is intertwined with your spouse’s. And after, to reinforce his place as head of our household, he gave me a short but effective spanking with the acrylic paddle…the large one, that spanks both cheeks at the same time. It was 12 of the best for this girl, bent over the side of our bed….yikes that hurt! He seemed quite pleased with himself after 😊.

Not that I don’t love talking about spanking (obviously, I do!)….but, you are probably wondering about the title of this post. Currently, I am reading “The Book of Joy”, written by Douglas Abrams on his time spent with the Dalai Lama and Archbishop Desmond Tutu. I have felt great joy in my heart lately and wish to spread that joy to others. This is a quote that I read recently about joy, not from the book, but one that really touched me:

Very happy for you my friend. Engaging and thorough conversation between lovers can feel like a cleansing effect. You feel cleaner, clearly understood. I know because my own marriage needs an enema sometimes.

I love that quote. My Sawyer and I have been having a lot of those sorts of conversations. Late January is a triggering time for me. And it’s one of our favorite things to just sit down and have a deep conversation about what is going well in our dynamic and just in our lives. And also what’s not going well in our dynamic and our lives. We’re having a girl. So no end of conversation spankings for this girl. But have a lovely day!

Thank you Nora! I have read your blog for a while now, but I’m just now getting the confidence to comment. There is a lot of pain in my past year, but it has also strangely been the best year of my life. Much like how in submission I enjoy a mixture of pleasure and pain, I am learning to keep joy in my life through and despite tragedy. This quote helps me see that. I’m sending you hugs right back! ❤
