Short & Sweet… Forgetfulness

“I’m sorry, Daddy,” she said, looking at the floor.  “I really didn’t mean to forget.”

He reached out and gently lifted her face up towards his.  This simple gesture communicated that he desired her to make eye contact, as difficult as that sometimes was for her.

Staring into her eyes, he quietly said, “I know you didn’t, Princess.  But, I promised you that if you forgot again that I was going to give you a good reminder, one that you wouldn’t forget anytime soon.  And you know that Daddy always keeps his promises, don’t you?”

“Yes, Sir,” she said, demurely.

“And you know what that reminder will be, don’t you?” He asked, waiting.

“Yes, Sir,” she said, shyly.

He stared at her, eye brow raised, waiting for her to say it.

“A spanking, Daddy.  You are going to give me a spanking,” she finished, quietly, forcing out the words of her soon-to-be reality.

“That’s right, young lady.  I am going to give you a good, hard spanking and hopefully you won’t forget next time,” he told her, pulling her in close for a warm hug.

Releasing her, he said, “Now, be a good girl and go and wait in our bedroom, please.  You know where I expect to find you.”  He said the last part sternly, as he turned her around and gave her a firm swat to her rear.

As he watched his lovely wife scurry towards their bedroom, he smiled.  His little girl may be forgetful at times, but he loved her intensely and unconditionally.  She was his to mold and care for, and to discipline when she needed it.
